Orbit Baby Websites
At Orbit Baby, I managed small team responsible for the user experience and visual design for the company's outward facing websites from conception to completion, including a complete website redesign and an e-commerce site that was a first for the baby gear industry.
Orbit Baby Mobile Site
Recognizing that an increasing percentage of Orbit Baby's web traffic is coming from mobile devices (25% in 2011, with 60% of time spent on site), the marketing team launched a mobile version of our website in 2012 to optimize the web browsing experience for our visitors while on the go. In designing the user experience, we identified 3 main goals:
- Provide easy access to product information, including product specifications, photography, and videos.
- Increase conversions by linking directly to our e-commerce site and to a store locator for customers looking for local retailers.
- Improve customer experience for existing customers with quick links to support materials, including contact information, instruction manuals, and installation videos.

Orbit Baby Main Website (redesign)
Orbit Baby's main website underwent a major redesign from being a static website to a custom content managed system with full SEO integration, and the new site went live concurrently with the company's launch of its second generation line of products, the G2. In addition, this site was also optimized for a global audience as the G2 was developed to meet the regulatory rigors of a number of different countries.
Because baby gear is one of the biggest purchases for an expectant family, extensive research has to be done before a purchasing decision can be made. In designing the website, we drew inspirations from the car and consumer electronics industry by providing a content rich browsing experience to educate our prospective customers on the benefits of our products.

Orbit Baby E-commerce Site
Orbit Baby was the first company in the baby gear industry to launch an e-commerce site. Because the industry still relied on a network on independent retailers, we kept our e-commerce site separate from the company's main website. We gave this site a new brand identity and color to minimize conflicts with our retail partners while seizing this market opportunity to cater towards an increasingly tech-savvy audience.
As a premium lifestyle brand, we drew inspirations from the fashion industry by showcasing full bleed aspirational lifestyle photography and offering a "get this look" shopping option to highlight the modularity of our products.
